UBC Summer Scholars Program at the Okanagan Campus

The Summer Scholars Program is aimed at giving students a solid foundation in environmental science and sustainability. Gain valuable hands-on experience while being taught by top UBC faculty and researchers who are experts in the field. Teen Art Residency Program

Designed for students interested in the visual arts, the program encourages students from away to discover the seaside city of Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada while attending summer art classes.

Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA - 2 options:

Western Scholars Invitational – July 17-19 – Open to students entering their senior year

Western Scholars Invitational is a three-day, two-night summer program geared towards to-be seniors that demonstrate exceptional academic promise. The WSI experience provides a well-rounded view of collegiate life, including classroom discussions, faculty presentations, and a peak into the daily lives of Western students.

The Western Scholars Invitational will be held on July 17 – July 19, 2011. You can find the application online at We recognize that students are talented in different areas and we are flexible with who we admit to the program. We would love to consider them for this opportunity. Each year we have over 150 students from across the country attend, with a majority of participants coming from outside the state of Washington.

College Quest – July 10-15 – Open to students entering grades 10-12

College Quest is a summer college experience for students entering grades 10-12. Students are able to live in a resident hall, complete a special interest course taught by WWU faculty, and earn one college credit. Students experience the reality of university life – from dorm to classroom – during this motivating and powerful program. Gain valuable "success in college" information, form extraordinary social connections that come with life in a residence hall and strengthen the college application portfolio.

Choose from a diverse range of course topics including Dance, Conditioning and Choreography, Criminal Law & Justice, Film/Video Production, Environmental Science & Sustainability and Behavioral Neuroscience.Early registration is encouraged to reserve your favorite course topic. CCA 2012 Summer Art Programs - 2 options:

Pre-College Program: Immerse yourself in a college-level curriculum and become part of a creative community, meeting and working with other talented, serious students from diverse backgrounds. Study art or creative writing in an art school setting while earning 3 units of college credit. Location: Oakland campus. Dates: June 25 to July 20 (We will begin accepting applications January 2).

Summer High School English + Design Program: especially created for international students who would like to further develop their English language and art/design skills and explore the city of San Francisco. This program is intended for international high school students who have completed the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade by summer 2012. Location: San Francisco campus. Dates: July 9 – August 3, 2011 (applications will be accepted from January 4 – March 23, 2012).

UC Berkeley Summer Programs

High school students seeking residential summer programs at UC Berkeley can participate in either of the following programs: Summer Focus at Berkeley by Education Unlimited and International Pre-Collegiate Program at UC Berkeley, by Sesame Consulting.

Stanford University Summer College

Stanford’s High School Summer College provides academic, social, and intellectual opportunities that cannot be found in a high school classroom. All program participants build their own schedule of challenging college-level courses that will be documented on an official Stanford University transcript.

Cal Poly Summer Career Workshop in Architecture

The Architecture Department offers an intensive 4-week in-residence workshop designed for high school students considering architecture as a career or developing a design portfolio.

USC 2012 Summer Programs for High School Students

USC offers students the opportunity to study for a month in Los Angeles though the USC Summer Programs, which introduces students to college life. Students explore Los Angeles as a laboratory

for recreational and cultural learning beyond the traditional classroom. Our course offerings are designed to combine college level course work, academic field trips, and structured recreational activities. UCLA Summer Programs

UCLA Summer Sessions and Special Programs offers summer programs to motivated high school students who would like to get a jump-start on their college career and gain enrichment in a variety of interesting and challenging subjects. In addition to the normal course format, UCLA Summer Sessions offers intensive, often shorter length, academic programs and courses for high school students with the added value of field trips and workshops.

Chapman Summer Film Academy

Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts offers a comprehensive, collaborative and creative high school film program that puts students at the center of the filmmaking process. For two weeks students learn the basic tools of the trade from distinguished Dodge College faculty and current students, understanding what it takes to tell a great story and applying that knowledge to the creation of a short film project.

California State Summer School for the Arts

The California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) is a rigorous pre-professional training program in the visual and performing arts, creative writing, animation, and film for talented artists of high school age. CSSSA provides a supportive environment in which students hone acquired skills and explore new techniques and ideas for an intense and exciting learning experience. The School was created by the California Legislature, held its first session in 1987 and will conduct its 26th session in 2012. Its purpose is to provide a training ground for future artists who wish to pursue careers in the arts and entertainment industries in California. The California State Summer School for the Arts is a state agency funded through a unique public-private partnership.

University of Chicago Summer Session '12

During the summer, the University of Chicago offers numerous opportunities to accomplished high school students. Tomorrow's undergraduates can immerse themselves in the University of Chicago's unique atmosphere as early as this summer. Choose from among the following undergraduate-level programs.

Northwestern University's High School Institute

The National High School Institute™, established in 1931, is the nation’s oldest and largest university-based summer program for outstanding high school students. Approximately 700 of the nation’s best students will enroll in the Institute’s 5 Divisions: Debate, Speech, Journalism, Film & Video Production, and Theatre Arts.

Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)

Two options:

SCAD Summer Seminars - offer workshops for high school students who have completed their freshman, sophomore or junior years. Students have the opportunity to gain a valuable educational experience while trying their hands at exciting art and design assignments and projects.

Pre-college: Rising Star - this challenging five-week program awards college credit to rising high school seniors who are ready for a summer college experience. Students enroll in two college-level classes and have the opportunity to build or enhance their visual arts portfolios.

Cornell University Summer College for High School Students

Cornell University's prestigious "Summer College Programs for High School Students," now more than fify years old, offers three- and six-week academic programs for talented sophomores, juniors, and seniors from around the world. You can choose from programs in:

Architecture, Art and Design, Business, College Success, Engineering, Environmental Studies, History and Politics, Hotel Management, Humanities, Law and Government, Medicine, Psychology, Research and Science, and Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science.

Columbia University Summer High School Programs

Columbia University offers rigorous summer pre-college academic programs for students entering grades 9 through 12 and freshman year of college in New York City, Barcelona, and the Middle East. NYC courses: arts, sciences, law, business, engineering, politics, college prep, and liberal arts. Middle East: explore the history and culture of the Arab world, with travel and study in New York and Jordan. Barcelona: immerse yourself in Barcelona's history and culture, with courses in art, architecture, urban development, and Spanish language.

Tisch (NYU) Summer High School

During the summer the Tisch School of the Arts offers high school students the chance to participate in intensive training either in New York City or Dublin. In each of our four-week programs, students are enrolled in rigorous and highly structured college-level courses taught by our full-time faculty. Upon successful completion of the summer program, students earn six college credits, all fully accredited New York University courses. Programs of Study: Drama, Dramatic Writing, Film, Photography, and Recorded Music in New York; Drama and Film in Dublin.

School of Creative and Performing Arts Summer Intensives for High School Students

Since it was founded in 1998, SOCAPA has quickly become one of the premier visual and performing arts programs for young people, ages 14 to 18, in the world. With summer intensives ranging in length from two to six weeks, and campuses in New York, California and Vermont there's no excuse for not taking action.

Boston Summer Institute at Suffolk University

Suffolk University's Boston Summer Institute offers high school students a unique opportunity to earn two college credits while taking specially-designed courses centered on the theme of Boston. Our two-week residential program will prepare your students for the next step in their education. Adding college credits to their resume and experiencing life in a residence hall in the heart of Boston is a great way to get a head-start on their college experience. Berklee's Five-Week Summer Performance Program, now in its 26th year, is the largest, most comprehensive summer music program available-anywhere. Oxbridge Academic Programs

We offer summer study programs in England, in Oxford and Cambridge; in France, in Paris and Montpellier; in Barcelona, Spain; and in the United States, in New York City. In each country, we offer a range of programs for students in grades 8 to 12.

NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti

The Summer Programs propose a wide and updated synthesis of NABA know-how, giving a view of the most significant trends of the market, of industrial creation processes, of artistic and social expression, of Interior and Product Design, Fashion Design, Styling, Accessories, Textiles, Communication and Marketing, as well as Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Theatre Design and Media Design, together with the opportunity to experiment with a topical project theme, under the guidance of renowned professionals that will help students to delve into a design environment simulating a professional studio, gaining profound insight into the technical components of the design process.

TS College Tours was established to better serve students attending high schools outside the United States who wish to attend college or university in the US or Canada. Unlike other college tour companies, at TS College Tours we focus on the specific and unique needs while acknowledging the different backgrounds and requirements of international students. Each tour has been carefully planned with students attending overseas schools in mind and each tour is led by counselors with experience in international school settings.

COLLEGE VISITS offers the college bound student a first-hand look at colleges and universities throughout the United States. Because of our experience in working with a multitude of higher education institutions, we are able to obtain meetings with admissions representatives, student led tours, and campus housing. This helps to take the hassle and worry away from the student and parents in organizing a family visit.

Teen Travel Programs

Rustic Pathways offers travel programs for high school students, families, groups and college students. Summer programs are available for students from 12 years of age.
